I just received the most recent press release and collection of runway shots taken during New York Fashion Week. Here’s my take on the trends:
Having lived and worked in rural China, I find the inspiration fascinating, and what’s more impressive is the designers ability to interpret the image of the Chinese lumberjack into modern-day streetwear.
The collection utilizes several outdoors motifs, while it employs both color blocking amidst plaids, stripes, and other interesting patterns.
The color palette is mixed with vibrant colors and muted ones, with a pop of color from the accessories, such as the shoes and/or hats. The colors clash, but they do not conflict.
Jackets, tops, and overcoats are slightly oversized, while the laying of the same is executed delightfully.
